In her hometown of Irvine, she performed at South Coast Repertory and Laguna Playhouse. She also studied Theatre and Voice at Indiana University and performed in an improv troupe called The Original Full Frontal Comedy. After college, Parker performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Second City in Chicago, Bloemendaal, Unhinged Academy and Groningen. In addition, Nicole and some college friends formed a theater company in New York called Waterwell Productions. Parker moved to Amsterdam for two years, where she performed in the comedy show Boom Chicago alongside MADtv alumni as well as current cast members Ike Barinholtz and Jordan Peele.
As of 2007, Nicole Parker is currently entering her fifth season on Mad TV. Since the departure of Stephnie Weir in Season 11, Nicole Parker has been the longest serving lead actress on Mad TV. Parker is leaving her own unique brand of humor on the late night show, just like many fellow alumnists including Nicole Sullivan, Debra Wilson, Alex Borstein, and Mo Collins.
From July 2006 -January 2007, Parker performed in Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me comedy musical, alongside funnyman Martin Short, Marc Shaiman, Reno 911's Mary Birdsong, Brooks Ashmanskas, and Capathia Jenkins. The show is now closed, but the cast album is still available through Ghostlight Records (www.sh-k-boom.com). Featuring original music by the award winning composer/lyricist team of Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman, the cast album features Parker singing on tracks like "Big Titties" and "Step Brother to Jesus".
